I don’t know what you are faced with or confronting; but one thing I know for sure is that God is making room for us.
[2 Kings 13:14-19 KJV] “Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.”
“And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows. And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand upon it: and Elisha put his hands upon the king’s hands.”
“And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORD’s deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.”
“And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed. And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.“
He is bringing us into a large room where we can have expression. If you will step into and maximise the potential of this large room, you must;
- Honour the anointing
- Be intentional about your pursuits
- Count and be guided by the cost or budget
- Pray, plan, prepare, partner, and step out to grind with guts and grits
Honour the anointing over you
The first step toward maximising the potential of the room God is making is to honour the anointing over you. God will not send someone from the grave to preach and minister to you. Don’t expect that, Jesus expects you to listen to Moses and the Prophets. Nobody is coming from the grace to preach the gospel to you. You must honour the anointing over you.
The story we just read tells us of a king who came to a sick prophet. Imagine it; the prophet is sick and bedridden, and the king is healthy and mighty; yet in winning the battle of life, he respected and honoured the anointing on a sick bedridden prophet more than his crown and authority.
Be intentional about your pursuits.
You must have purpose and goals. The king came to the prophet with a singular request: help me defeat my enemies or adversary; he knew what he wanted to do in the room God places him. What do you want to achieve if God opens a new room for you? If God gives you a new opportunity or room, what would you do there?
Don’t leave your life to chance; pray that you will hear the voice of the LORD that teaches you which way to go. WHERE THERE IS NO VISION THE PEOPLE PERISH BECAUSE THEY CAST OFF RESTRAINT. You must have a purpose and a goal.

- Others want to build a tower
We all have different needs and aspirations, but we must all have vision and goals. What do you intend to do when the Lord opens a door for us?
Count the cost and resolve to pay the price
The king failed to utter destroy Amalek because he struck three times instead of five or six. His problem is he did not count the cost. He did not even know what it will take to utterly defeat Amalek. Don’t be frivolous about anything; sit down and count the cost. Any pursuit will cost you something; you must count the cost through prophetic understanding or forecasting and projections. You must know what it will take to utterly defeat your adversary!
Do you know what it will take to follow your plans through? Do you know what it will take to finish your course? Let us settle down, have a cool head, and count the cost? Forecast, purpose, plan, and budget; be sure that you have what it takes to finish it, follow-through, and complete the course.
Pray, strategise, prepare, partner, and step out to grind with guts and grits
Remember, nothing good comes cheap. Everything of value comes through faithful and wise pursuit! You must be ready to grind, and not just grind but to grind with guts and grits!
