[Luke 24:44-53 KJV] “And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.”
“Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.”
“And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.”
“And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen“
I believe the church of God needs another pentecost at all cost. We need a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. We need another pentecost because we have all resort to seeking for power and unction from bottles and from men rather than from on high. Many of us are seeking from men and bottles because we are unwilling to pay the price for another pentecost; Separation, Waiting, and Minstering to the Lord in worship, prayer, fasting and listening.
What is pentecost? Pentecost has come to be closely related to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
As we celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost, we are reminding ourselves of how the church came to be empowered with the mighty force and power of the Holy Spitit. We are reminded that after Resurrection and Ascension, the Lord instructed His church to wait until they are endued with power from on high. He indicated the source of the power ad being from on high. The power is not in bottles and mantles; the power He was referring to was coming from above. The Bible says they worshipped Him and returned with great joy; they then continued daily in the temple; and they praised and blessed God until the spirit was poured upon them. This is the cost of Pentecost.
The cost of Pentecost
The cost of pentecost is enshrined in three concepts
- Desire
- Separation
- Waiting
- Ministering
It’s important to state that Pentecost is expensive. It costs something; your time, energy, resources, and commitment. You must be willing to be seperated, to wait and to minister to the Lord. Waiting is the instruction, he said “wait until, you are endued with power from on high.” As we wait on God this season, may the God Lord pour His Holy Spirit upon us. If we really desire another Pentecost at all cost; we must be ready to;
- Be seperated
- Wait on Him
- Minister to Him in worship, prayer, listening, and fasting
This is the cost of Pentecost. This is what it takes to recieve the power. They seperated themselves. This is how to go about it.
- The disciples had burning desire for the experience; We must have a burning desire to be endured with power from on high. Sometimes, we want the power but not from on high. Many people are running after power, but they are seeking it bottles. The real deal is from above!
- They prayed, worshipped, and ministered to God; You must ask to recieve. This is the singular secret; God gives the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him. Let us gather to ask and He will give!
- They had faith; They believed that Jesus will pray the Father to send the Holy Spirit as promised. They counted Him faithful. They waited for ten days because they believed. We must also wait because we believe!
- They waited and ministered to God in prayer, fasting, listening, and worship; This is our time to wait too. Just as they did in Acts 4:30 and in Acts 13:1-5; its our turn to wait if we want Pentecost at all cost!
Do we really need another Pentecost at all cost? Yes!
We do now more than ever. There is no way we can succeed and survive in this generation, except we can manifest fresh fire power. This generation is more than untoward. We need great fire to purge away the dross and stains.
