Can God save a nation by the prayer of just one man? My message today is one what God can do if He finds even just you praying for your people.
[Daniel 9:1-5 KJV] “In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans; in the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.”
“And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes: and I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;”
“we have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:“
It takes just one man to change a nation. God can use your prayers to transform the whole nation or the city where you live and work and conduct your business.
The prayer and fasting and tarrying of Daniel, in the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus changed the fortunes of Israel. How benevolent? God is so gracious that if He finds five righteous men in a city, He spares the city; and if He finds one praying man, He still saves the city.
May you arise today to pray and to intercede for this city and nation and your family. May you pray for your children and grand children and parents! Remember, the prayer of one honest man makes great power available and God can use that power to redeem and restore a nation. “The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avails much.“
- Set your face to seek the Lord by prayer and fasting and repentance. Join me as we seek the Lord this first week in October. That kind of prayer can save the nations of the Lord
- Pray and confesss your faults and the faults of the nations before the Lord. Admit your sins and wickedness and ask the Lord to forgive and save. Pray for His pardon and grace.
- Ask the Lord to redeem and restore this city, nation, family, generation. Pray and pray fervently. Pray and pray in faith. Pray and never stop praying even if you don’t see Him working. Travail and labour in prayer, God will answer!
Stay blessed and remember, God can use the prayer of one man to save an entire nation. We don’t need a whole nation to bring about redemption, God needs just one praying man or woman. Would you be that man or woman?
