[Matthew 24:12 KJV] “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.“
One of the key apocalyptic verses in scriptures is this; that because iniquity shall abound, the love of many will wax cold. This very prophesy is playing out before our eyes and we see many growing frigid.
How then do you keep the first and the second commandment which is the only law under the New Testament. To love the Lord your God with all your mighty, heart, and soul; and to love your neighbour as yourself. How can you love in a world of abounding iniquity?
What is iniquity?
Iniquity is an immoral or grossly unfair behaviour. It is a very wrong and unfair action or situation. INIQUITY is gross injustice and/or wickedness.
And the Bible is predicting that you are going to see abounding wickedness and injustice, and unfair behaviours and situation.
Why walk by faith in love in a world infested with iniquity
- Without faith, no man can please God. Faith comes down to love. Faith works by love.
- Loving is the commandment we must keep.
- Without love there will be no blue skies and we will be as tinkling cymbals; when we speak with the tongue of angels and of men
- Love is one of the three things that abide.
How to love in a world infested with iniquity
- Do everything you do as unto the Lord and for the Lord: When you are giving a cup of water out; give it as unto the Lord and for the Lord. Cast your bread upon the waters; it is better to give to an anonymous person than to family or friend. You must decide to love as a ministry to God. Do your labour of love to the brethren as unto God. Most often, whereas you are trying to help a brother or sister, they think you’re playing a well-calculated game on them. They deal with you with hidden and callous motives.
- Pray for the grace to continue walking by faith and in love: You need great grace to continue loving with passion. Most often, those you are loving take you for a fool. They think they are smart, and you just have to continue being a fool in other to keep helping. Most of the things the world does to you is senseless and demonic.
- Decide to be everyman fool in this life: Many people thinking of themselves as wise have become fools.
- Don’t expect good in return from people you love or help; They would rather try to find faults in order to fall out with you so they won’t feel guilty for how they treat you. You must expect that most of the people you help and love will not lift a finger for you.
- When you feel overwhelmed remember Jesus and Job. They suffered the contradiction of sinners, lest you will become wearied in your mind.
