[Luke 1:34-45 KJV] “Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”
“And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. For with God nothing shall be impossible. And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.”
“And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda; and entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth. And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: and she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.”
“And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
The Bible tells us that the kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost! In the coming year, I wish to admonish you to fulfill all righteousness but be open to supernatural breaks. God will keep surprising you in the coming year and beyond. Do all that you have to do but;
- Hear and recieve the word that is sent to you: (See Roman 10:17) Don’t patronise the messenger; just recieve the word and the message. Learn to listen with humility. Don’t despise prophesyings.
- Keep hearing by faith: Position yourself to hear more and more by faith (See Galatians 3:5). Mary visited Elizabeth who spoke further into her life. Who speaks into your life. Who is your counsellor? Who is your mentor? Who are you seeking counsel from? All pregnancies are not the same. Mary was pregnant with something that was connected and resembles what Elizabeth was carrying. The fact that we sit in the same classroom does not mean we are classmates.
- Mix the word with faith: (See Hebrews 4:1-2) When Mary visited Elizabeth, she said “blessed is he that believed…” Be persuaded of what you have believed and whom you have believed.
- Add the works of faith: (See James 1:20, 26) Faith without works is dead. You must act on your faith! Faith works include prayer, speaking what you believe, obeying what you have been told. When Abraham was told to go out and recieve a land, he went out not knowing where he was going.
- Remain faithful and loyal! Don’t stagger at the promise, even when the circumstances suggest otherwise! (Romans 4:20) God is both faithful and able. You can count on Him!
I am still sharing on the wisdom from the Christmas story; and one of the cardinal wisdoms from the Christmas story is the need to believe in the supernatural.
The story of Christmas reveal that somethings happen through fulfilling all righteousness but many things also happen through miracles or supernatural intervention. If you can finish well and overcome to the end, you must believe in miracles. There are things that are only possible when you believe and recieve supernatural intervention.
There are many things that are impossible except by supernatural intervention. Both Mary and Zacharias had to believe and recieve the fact that miracles and supernatural intervention are real to fulfill the word. You must believe in miracles. You must accept that God is able to make a way where there is no way.
Note that in the Christmas story two people asked the same question, one was chastised but the other pardoned; but it all was good. All things worked together to the good of both Zacharias and Mary. Zacharias was chastised because he was an experienced priest who should know better that God is able to do all things. He was a priest that ministered at the altar of incense; but Mary was just a teenager. She was just a little child. Zacharias was punished because there was a precedent of old couple concieveing. Zacharias should have known the God of Abraham and Sarah.
Miracles are real and I believe in miracles. God is still in the business of working miracles. The Bible teaches in Hebrews 11:11-12, that Sarah by faith recieved strength to conceieve and bear a child. Let us believe in supernatural intervention, if you want to finish well.
Have a nice day and stay blessed.
