Addictions and controlling spirits are difficult to deal with. You must therefore be proactive to ensure that you are not brought under the power of anything.
[1 Corinthians 6:12 KJV] “All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.“
The Bible says “all things are lawful but you should not be brought under the power of anything.”
5 of the topmost things that should never control you are:
The fear of a man
The fear of a man brings a snare. Proverbs 29:25 says that “The fear of man bringeth a snare: But whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.” You must never allow the fear of what people will say or think imprison your creativity and godliness. The fear of a man brings a snare.
The love of money
1 Timothy 6:10 teaches that the “love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” Let us beware of the love of money. Those who love money fall into many hurtful lust. Let us beware!
Your past
Don’t let you past control you. Break unhealthy habits and make peace with your past. Confess your sins and faults and don’t let your past control you. This is exactly what Zaccheus did. He made peace with his past through restitution and was able to focus on the future.
“And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. And Zacchæus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost”. (Luke 19:7-10 KJV)
Your anger
The Bible teaches that anger rest in the bossom of a fool. The wrath of a man does not work the righteousness of God. This is what the Bible says in James 1:20 that “for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.“
Your desire
Lust and strong cravings are a trap. You must strive not to be under the control of your desires and cravings. You must master unhealthy desire. The Bible teaches that “Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh And intermeddleth with all wisdom.” (Proverbs 18:1 KJV)
Stay blessed and not controlled!
