[Jude 1:20 KJV] “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,”
No man is bigger than his faith!

“And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” (Matthew 14:31 KJV)
The text you just read is the response of the Lord to Peter sinking in the storm. Inasmuch as the Lord was sympathetic towards him, His answer reveals a lot. He emphatically stated that what happens to you in the day of adversity depends on how strong your faith is. Two people may experience the same storm but their reactions will be different, depending on who and what they had been believing before the storm.
I want to exhort you to grow your faith; because no man is bigger than his faith. The depth you can go in God and the distance you can travel by faith in a storm is determined by the size and strength of you faith. The bigger and stronger your faith, the greater the depth and distance you can go.
The Lord didn’t mince words when He said to Peter, “why did you doubt, ye of little faith“. If you read a few verse up in your own Bible, the two men were all walking in the midst of the boisterous winds and storm, but one drowned while the other kept walking. The difference was their faith. The difference was how they related with the word. One had built his faith but the other had left his to chance!
In an attempt to build your faith, always remember:
1. Faith comes by hearing; the more you hear the greater it grows!
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. (Romans 10:17 KJV)
2. The bigger your faith, the greater your obedience.
Faith is obedience! You can not say, you believe until you have obeyed. What you believe is what you have obeyed. Let us not deceive ourselves. Faith and obedience follow each other in the sequence of things.
3. The greater the faith, the stronger your patience.
“O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, That thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, That thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, Till my change come”. (Job 14:13-14 KJV)
Men of great faith have great patience in the midst of storms and trial. We see the faith of Job by his patience in trial. “Blessed is the man that endures temptations; because when he is tried, he will receive the crown of life.” (James 1:12)
4. The greater the faith, the greater the work you desire to put in
When people believe, they put in work. When people believe they find a way. When people believe, they are ready to put their hands to the plough. Don’t allow anyone to pay lip service to you. People will work when they believe. That is why the work of the Lord is to believe on the Sent One.
“Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent”. (John 6:29 KJV)
5. The bigger your prayer, the more enduring your faith becomes. Praying men don’t faint!
“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” (Luke 18:1 KJV)
The Lord teaches that one of the great secrets to enduring faith in the midst of the storm is to pray. James teaches that if any is afflicted, he should pray (See James 5). Prayer is the key to enduring faith.
6. The more you exercise yourself unto godliness, the sharper your faith becomes.
This is so clear, faith is the nature of God. The more you walk in godliness, the greater and enduring your faith becomes. You must walk in godliness to boost your confidence in Him. No man is greater than his faith, build yours! Build up yourself on your most holy faith!
Love you!
