“And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.” [Mark 11:17 KJV]
Without any ambiguity, whenever the Lord looks at His church, He sees a house of prayer. The house of the Lord must always resound with prayer and worship. That is our secret to power and wisdom to stay above and not beneath.
The first mystical practices which the church and our congregation specifically therefore must uphold is extended fervent and effectual prayers. The Bible teaches that the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous man avails much. It makes tremendous power available. We know that the effectual fervent prayers of the righteous avails much.
“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16 KJV)
Sometimes, praying fervently may appear like a joke or drama; but it has great benefits. I firmly believe that when we gather, we must keep the prayer fervent and effectual. We must avoid pretense and hypocrisy. Remember that all of us will fall and fail if no one intensely and fervently intercede for us.
“Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.” (Colossians 4:12 KJV)
I want to encourage you today to stir the church and lead each other into effectual fervent prayers. May the Lord awake us to pray to make great power available. The church that prays grows; the believe that prays will excel.
Stay blessed
