[Hebrews 12:1-3 KJV] “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.“
Your attention is one of the key things aside your faith that the enemy wants. If the enemy can get your attention, he will direct you. If the enemy can get you attention, he will control you. When Balaam failed to curse Israel, he recommended that they be distracted! Listen, the enemy knows the power of faith and focus and that is what he is after. He wants to distract you, so that he can manipulate you.
Ain’t it clear that, the only way to run the race set before you, is to focus on Jesus! As long as you are focused on Christ, you will make a greater impact than usual. You can run the race set before well, when you learn to focus on Him. Set your gaze on Him.
John 3 teaches that any man that can look to Jesus, can survive the serpent bites. There is so much in the world trying to hurt or help you. Anything that will not help you will hurt you! You must beware of that. We must learn to keep our gaze on Jesus Christ, lest we get distracted. The enemy is doing everything to get your attention. It is what He wants , so that He will give you direction. I have seen how sometimes, even rebellious members of a fellowship try to direct the preaching of the pulpit. Your most potent weapon is to ignore the enemy. Don’t allow Him to distract and direct you.
The Bible exhorts us to look unto Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith. Those who look to Jesus Christ gain strength and are able to run. There is a race we must run, if we will stop to throw stones at every barking dog, we will not finish our course. There is a race we must run and finish. Let us focus on the race and finish our course. God will help and save us from the things that hurt. Ignore the enemy!
Stay blessed
