As Pentecost approaches, there is the need to refresh your minds about 4 spiritual experiences everyone must crave and believe God for:
1. The sanctification and sealing of the Holy Spirit.
This is the first work of the Holy Ghost in the life of the believer. The Bible says in Ephesians 1:13, that we were sealed up with the Holy Ghost of redemption. This is a seal we need to maintain into the day of redemption (See Ephesians 4:30). This occurs at the time of conversion or believing. That is what the Bible teaches.
“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-11 KJV)
The Bible teaches that though we were also sinners and condemned, we were washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord by the Spirit of God. There is a work the Holy Spirit does in the life of the believer; which is called sanctification!
2. The baptism and infilling of the Holy Ghost.
This is the second experience that is necessary for every saint and we must crave and desire it deeply. This is the points when the Holy Spirit come to live in us and gives us utterance. You must desire to be filled with the Holy Ghost and you must come under the sweet influence of the Holy Ghost!
“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:1-4 KJV)
We need another Pentecost! We need a fresh infilling and the baptism and the fullness of the Spirit in the church. As we gather for fellowship, may His Spirit dwell among us! May we experience another dimension of His grace and power! This is the time and now is the season. May God pour His Spirit upon us again!
3. The fellowship and communion of the Holy Spirit.
We must crave the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. This is where power is imparted. This is the empowerment zone. This is when He imparts His nature to us. That is why Apostle Paul prayed for us that the fellowship of the Holy Spirit shall be with us. We need it. It is such a blessing that God will come to fellowship with you
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. The second epistle to the Corinthians was written from Philippi, a city of Macedonia, by Titus and Lucas.” (2 Corinthians 13:14 KJV)
May the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you! This is an experience we must crave. This is an experience we ought to wait for daily.
4. The manifestation and demonstration of the Holy Spirit
The fourth experience every believer must crave for is the manifestation and demonstration of the Holy Spirit. The manifestation is given for our profiting and the demonstration for a foundation for our faith. That your faith will not dwell in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.” (1 Corinthians 12:7 KJV)
We must earnestly desire the demonstration of the Spirit. A man who has seen the burning bush has a stronger conviction than one who has seen nothing!
“And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God”. (1 Corinthians 2:1, 4-5 KJV)
May the Lord bless us with another outpouring and infilling! May we experience the fourth dimension of His Spirit in the name of Jesus!
