[2 Corinthians 13:14 KJV] “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. The second epistle to the Corinthians was written from Philippi, a city of Macedonia, by Titus and Lucas“
When I starting saying the grace in church, I always thought of it as a benediction and didn’t think there was more to it; but over the years I have come to know the communion of the Spirit can be with us when we strategically position ourselves to enjoy it. There are things we can do to maintain that sweet fellowship.
1. Find a quiet place in wait in studying the word before the Lord
“And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.” (Mark 1:35 KJ)
When God wanted to speak to Moses, He commanded him to go into the mountain; and kept him there for 40 days and nights.
The Holy Spirit led Jesus Christ into the wilderness for 40 days and nights and had fellowship with him. The first secret to maintain koinonia is separation into a quiet place to wait. There is the need to get away from the noise and wait to hear.
2. Read, watch, and listen to the preaching of the word of faith. Wait in an atmosphere of the word of faith
“He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” (Galatians 3:5 KJV)
The Holy Spirit has a ministry to take of the Father and show you. As you start in the atmosphere of the preaching of faith; He has the raw materials by which He can teach and enlighten you! The logos is the raw material from which the Holy Spirit prepares the rhema. As you spend time with the spoken word, you set the stage for the Holy Spirit to reveal deeper things to you.
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” (John 16:13 KJV)
Fast, pray and minister to the Lord. The Holy Ghost fellowship with me through dreams and visions.
Just as in Acts 2, Acts 4, and in Acts 13, as we fast, pray and minister to the Lord, the Holy Spirit will begin to give us ideas and instructions that brings increase. The Holy Spirit comes in and speak to us.
“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:1-4 KJV)
The Bible says they were together with one accord, then the Holy Ghost came in as a mighty rushing wind.
“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness”. (Acts 4:31 KJV)
Once again, He came in after they had prayed and waited! This was another revival. Though historically, there will not be another outpouring; you may need a personal Pentecost!
“Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.” (Acts 13:1-3 KJV)
You will have and enjoy sweet fellowship with the Holy Ghost, if you just began with these simple tips!
Stay blessed!
