[Ezekiel 37:4-7 KJV] “Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones;”
“Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: and I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live;”
“and ye shall know that I am the LORD. So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.”
This devotional is about the importance of listening to God’s voice and speaking what He says, even if it’s not what we want to hear. It reminds us that God knows what’s best for us, and that He will never lead us astray. When we speak what we heard God say, we are sharing His truth with the world, and we are helping to make a difference.
Why prophesy only what you hear?
- Learn to speak what you heard God say, not what you think you should. You should not try to make it fit your own personal mold.
- Speak what you heard God say, even if it’s hard to hear. Even if it’s not what you want to believe or what you fear.
- Speak what you heard God say, because you know He’s right. He knows what’s best for us, even when you don’t.
- Speak what you heard God say, even if it’s not popular; even if it makes you stand alone in the midst of the crowd.
It is time to speak what you heard God say because you know He loves the world. He wants the best for us, and He’ll never lead the world astray.
So speak what you heard God say, with boldness and with grace. I know that His words are true, and I trust that He will lead us in His way.
How?
I exhort you to:
- Meditate on what God has said to you. Take some time to reflect on His words and how they apply to your life.
- Pray regularly and ask God to speak to you. Be open to hearing His voice in different ways, such as through Scripture, nature, or even through other people.
- Be bold and speak what you heard God say, even if it’s not popular. Remember that God’s words are true, and that He will always be with you.
When the prophet Ezekiel spoke as he heard God instruct, the dry bones rose again. Your dry bones shall live again, as we learn to speak as the Lord hears.
