Do all things with murmuring!

[Philippians 2:14 KJV] “Do all things without murmurings and disputings;”

In the book of Philippians, Paul writes to the church in Philippi, encouraging them to live a life of love and unity. He reminds them that they are “blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation” (Philippians 2:15).

In order to live this kind of life, Paul says that they must “do all things without murmurings and disputings” (Philippians 2:14).

Murmuring and disputing are two words that describe a negative attitude of complaining and arguing. When we murmur, we are expressing dissatisfaction with our circumstances. When we dispute, we are arguing with others about our point of view. Both of these attitudes can be destructive to our relationships with God and with others.

Here are a few tips to avoid murmuring and disputing:

  • Be grateful. One way to avoid murmuring is to be grateful for what we have. When we focus on the good things in our lives, it’s harder to complain about the bad things.
  • Trust God. When we trust God, we know that he is in control of our lives. This can help us to avoid disputing with others, because we know that God has a plan for our lives.
  • Be humble. When we are humble, we are less likely to complain or argue. We realize that we are not perfect, and we are willing to accept the things that we cannot change.

Living a life without murmuring and disputing is not always easy. But it is possible, and it is worth it. When we choose to be grateful, trust God, and be humble, we can live a life that is pleasing to God and that brings glory to his name.

Prayer:

God, help me to live a life without murmuring and disputing. Help me to be grateful for what I have, to trust you in all things, and to be humble. I want to live a life that is pleasing to you and that brings glory to your name. In Jesus’ name, amen.
