[John 17:20-23 KJV]— “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.”
“And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.”
Without a doubt, we are the light of this world engulfed in darkness; we are the salt to preserve our generation from decaying. The whole world risks failing through corruption and a lack of purpose; we are God’s agency of change and redemption from corruption and pain. As the world continues on a path downhill; the body of Christ on earth must be up and doing.
This devotional explores one of the key ingredients that will help us to serve this purpose; staying together. There is no alternative to staying together. We must strive to stay bonded if we can penetrate our cities with the gospel and revival of hope. We must be a church that remains as a unit.
We must be that church that bonds well, keeps ranks, keeps faith, submits to one another, tells one another their faults, and forgives each other; and no city shall be too strong for them to penetrate. This is because:
The church that bonds well reflects the glory and nature of God.
We reflect the maximum glory that confuses the enemy and appeals to the world when we are one. May the Lord grant that we shall be one and nothing shall divide us.
If the enemy can divide us, he can rule us.
In warfare, no statement is more true than this; “Together we stand; divided we fall.” The Lord Jesus taught that a kingdom divided against itself shall not stand. Our greatest secret of fortitude and tenacity lies within our ability to stand together.
The enemy cannot break anything if he cannot find disgruntled constituents within
Most things in this life corrupt and break down from within. Until the enemy finds disgruntled constituents within, penetrating and infiltrating becomes difficult. That is why we must beware of bitterness and offenses.
We have an assignment to carry out, may the Lord help us to stay together and be one in Jesus’ name!
