[Nehemiah 1:1-4 MSG] – The memoirs of Nehemiah son of Hacaliah. It was the month of Kislev in the twentieth year. At the time I was in the palace complex at Susa. Hanani, one of my brothers, had just arrived from Judah with some fellow Jews. I asked them about the conditions among the Jews there who had survived the exile, and about Jerusalem.”
“They told me, “The exile survivors who are left there in the province are in bad shape. Conditions are appalling. The wall of Jerusalem is still rubble; the city gates are still cinders.” When I heard this, I sat down and wept. I mourned for days, fasting and praying before the God-of-Heaven.
I pray that the same love and passion with which Nehemiah arose to build Jerusalem shall be born in us. Until, you learn to love and flow with the heart of God, you will not go far. Many of us are indifferent when it comes to building the house of God. We will go through rain and traffic to get to work, but won’t move an inch to attend church service.
May any evil power that is keeping us from waking up be rebuked in the name of Jesus! May we arise with passion and urgency to take action now!
- Come before the Lord with singing and adore His name. Exalt His name and sing of His praise.
- Ask the Lord to forgive our pride and foolishness! We have not been faithful and have treated the Lord lightly. Ask God to have mercy on us.
- Pray that the Lord shall open doors for us to rebuild our broken walls. Pray that God will send men and women to come and rebuild the HighCity. Pray for safety at the construction site. Pray that God will preserve us.
- Let us come before the Lord with a repented heart. May you never fail! May grace abound unto you in Jesus name.
May the Lord bless this prayer and release answers upon us.
Amen and stay blessed
