I exhort you to pray that the Lord shall put a new song in your mouth. This is because we all err in many things; but if a man errs not in word, the same is perfect.
James 3:2 (KJV) — “For in many things we offend all. If any man offends not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body”
This is because the power that saves by faith is neither in heaven nor in the grave but in your mouth. The power that saves by faith is the word of faith which we preach to you. It is near you, very close to you!
Romans 10:6-13 (KJV) — “But the righteousness which is of faith speaks on this wise, Say not in your heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) [7] or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)”
“[8] But what does it say? The word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; [9] that if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.”
“[10] For with the heart, man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation. [11] For the scripture says, Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.”
“[12] For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. [13] For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
The Bible says that life and death are in the power of the tongue. A man’s belly shall be filled with the fruit of his lips.
Proverbs 18:20-21 (KJV) — “A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; And with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. [21] Death and life are in the power of the tongue: And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
You can literally recreate your life, but sometimes it’s easier said than done. Sometimes, you may know all this, and yet speak defeat unconsciously. This is why you need the Spirit of the Lord to help you.
Sometimes, what you are going through affects the way you speak
Psalm 40:1-3 (KJV) — “I waited patiently for the LORD; And he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. [2] He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. [3] And he has put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.”
Sometimes, what you are going through does not support what you have to say or sing; but before Abram had even a kid, he changed his name to Abraham
Psalm 137:1-4 (KJV) — “By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, When we remembered Zion. [2] We hanged our harps Upon the willows in the midst thereof.”
“[3] For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; And they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion. [4] How shall we sing The LORD’s song in a strange land?”
Sometimes, you are surrounded by so many negative people that speaking by faith is misrepresented as pride
Psalm 39:1-3 (KJV) — “I said, I will take heed to my ways, That I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, While the wicked is before me. [2] I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; And my sorrow was stirred. [3] My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: Then spoke I with my tongue.”
You need the help of the Holy Spirit because sometimes bloodguiltiness will not allow you to speak the right things. May the Lord deliver you from bloodguiltiness!
Psalm 51:14 (KJV) — “Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: And my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.”
Sometimes, we speak the wrong things because our strength is dried up; pray that the Lord will give you supernatural utterance
Ephesians 6:18-20 (KJV) — “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; [19] and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, [20] for which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak”.
1 Corinthians 1:4-9 (KJV) — “I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; [5] that in every thing you are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; [6] even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:”
“[7] so that you come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: [8] who shall also confirm you unto the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. [9] God is faithful, by whom you were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Pray that the Holy Spirit will help you to speak as He gives you utterance
Acts 2:4 (KJV) — “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
Pray that God puts His word in your mouth
Jeremiah 1:6-10 (KJV) — “Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. [7] But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for you shall go to all that I shall send you, and whatsoever I command you shall speak.”
“[8] Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with you to deliver you, says the LORD. [9] Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.”
“[10] See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.”
Pray that God will superimpose the voice of the Spirit on your words and give it weight
Luke 24:30-32 (KJV) — “And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and broke, and gave to them. [31] And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. [32] And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?”
Stay blessed.
