1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV — “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
Abounding in the work of the Lord is doing more for God and going deeper in God.
You will do more for God in the work of the Lord and corporately, when you learn to;
- Believe that God sent your apostle and Pastor to you. In John 6:28-29, the Lord told the Jews that the work of the Lord is to believe on he that was sent. In John 20:21, the same Jesus said, as the Father has sent me, so do I send you. Your apostle and Pastor was sent to you by God. You may have ten thousand instructors but in Christ, your pastor has begotten you in the faith. He is your father in the Lord.
- Follow your pastor as he follows Christ. (See 1 Corinthians 11:1; 1 Corinthians 4:6; Hebrews 13:7) Remember that your pastor is human; an anointed man of God; follow him as he follows Christ. It is however not your calling to criticize your pastor. He is human and may miss the mark sometimes; only follow him as he follows Christ. Hold him accountable but not criticize him.
- Be fully persuaded that your labour in the Lord will not be in vain. Full persuasion will lead to full loyalty and commitment. Be fully persuaded, God is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (See Hebrews 11:6) Your labour will never be in vain.
- To love the Father more, love the word, and pray more. You need the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit to do more. (See 2 Corinthians 13:14)
- To love people more. You will work with people and do most of the things you do for God will be for ungrateful people. (See Matthew 25) Remember, when you heal ten, only one stranger will return and say thank you. Many people walk around with a foolish sense of entitlement
May the Lord guide your hearts into deeper revelation! You shall not make a mistake. The Lord will guide your steps and take you deeper.
Stay blessed.
