2 Corinthians 11:3 KJV — “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.“
This is a call to return to the simplicity which is in Christ. Many of us are missing out on the blessing that could be ours in Christ because we have become too sophisticated in our thinking, understanding, and living.
If only we can return to the simplicity that is in Christ, we will be returning to a place of greater power and grace. Christ is not far from anybody. God is close to each of us. In Him we move and live and have our being. Don’t allow anyone to corrupt you, beguile you through subtilty.
Eve was deceived because she could not accept the simple truth. She thought that godliness required the following of some complex set of spiritual direction. Many greedy prophets have made the faith walk so complex, so that they can make merchandise of you.
Please, I beseech you by the mercies of God to return to the simplicity that is in Christ. Don’t expand your taste; don’t be high-minded; don’t be sophisticated; just begin to embrace the simple truth of scriptures and believe they work.
