Romans 12:9 KJV — “Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.“
Genuine love is contagious; and that is the first proof that we are disciples of Christ. We are called to infest the world with the love of Jesus Christ. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. We are called and empowered to show the same kind of love without discrimination and pretense.
There is a call on us to love without pretense. We must love with real and genuine love, without pretending to have love when we don’t, without playing make-believe love. Loving without dissimulation means loving for real rather than putting on an act of love. Real and genuine love is one of the most scarce resources in the world today; we can however change the narrative by loving with real and genuine affection devoid of pretense.
Our second admonition is to abhor or hate evil. There are many people with weak minds who may try to abuse our open show of real affection; we should resent any attempt to corrupt our genuine love. We should not allow anyone to use our open show of affection as an occasion to pursue any selfish or parochial motives. We are to shun evil and cleave to that which is good.
I pray that God would heal our church and fellowship as we love without pretense. May the lonely and forsake feel the warmth of Christ through your voice and embrace. May the world around you receive healing from your show of love.
Stay blessed
