Mark 11:20-25 MSG — In the morning, walking along the road, they saw the fig tree, shriveled to a dry stick. Peter, remembering what had happened the previous day, said to him, “Rabbi, look—the fig tree you cursed is shriveled up!”
[22-25] Jesus was matter-of-fact: “Embrace this God-life. Really embrace it, and nothing will be too much for you. This mountain, for instance: Just say, ‘Go jump in the lake’—no shuffling or hemming and hawing—and it’s as good as done. That’s why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you’ll get God’s everything. And when you assume the posture of prayer, remember that it’s not all asking. If you have anything against someone, forgive—only then will your heavenly Father be inclined to also wipe your slate clean of sins.”
It is one thing to pray but another level all together to get results by prayer. I want to encourage you to pay attention to this; when you pray, do so with;
- Absolute confidence in what God can do You must pray with mountain-moving faith. It is not necessarily about the loudness of your voice but a total persuasion that God is able to do all that we can ask or think.
- An intense desire for answers. Don’t just pray but pray with deep desire for change and answers. Many prayers have remained unanswered because we don’t show impotunate desire.
- A readiness to wait until your change has come. Many are praying but are unwilling to wait. Their attitude suggests that if God does not do it, they can help themselves. God will wait until you are totally yielded to his will.
- A heart ready to forgive everyone that has trespassed them. Many of our prayers have remained unanswered because we are holding too many things against people. Forgiveness is the atmosphere within which prayers get answered..
