Proverbs 4:7-9 KJV — Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: And with all thy getting get understanding. [8] Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: She shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. [9] She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: A crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
The Bible teaches that wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom and also understanding. We are into this life to win and to be mighty in the land advancing the kingdom of God. One of the key things that will help us in advancing the kingdom of God is wisdom. When Jesus sent out His disciples, He admonished them to be as wise as serpents. The nature of the mission field requires that you be wise. We are as sheep among wolves. The Bible says we are as sheep not as loins. It will take wisdom to excel in missions and ministry.
Hosea 4:6 reveals that the people of God are gone into captivity because of the lack of knowledge. If we reject knowledge, he rejects us. It is important to get the principal things in life. It is important to get knowledge and also understanding. Knowledge and wisdom and understanding bring four things;
- Promotion
- Honour
- An ornament of grace, and
- A crown of glory
We know that the simple steps to find wisdom, knowledge, and understanding are;
Ask the Lord for it
“If any man lacks wisdom, let him ask. He should ask in faith doubting nothing.“
Allow the Holy Spirit to fill and teach you
He is the comforter and teacher. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of truth, wisdom and understanding. When you receive the Him, the same anointing will reach you all things. May the Lord release supernatural wisdom and understanding into your life now!
Read books and give yourself wholly to the instructions of your teachers
In Joshua 1:6-8, the Lord instructed Joshua to keep all that His servant Moses had instructed and written if he wanted to be successful
Prayer points
- Let’s pray and ask for the spirit of wisdom and understanding. Pray that the Lord will anoint us with the spirit of truth who will teach us all things. Sometimes, what you don’t know is keeping you from what you can become.
- Pray that any force or power blocking the release of the spirit of wisdom upon you be rebuked in the name of Jesus Christ!
- May the Lord release His angels to bring each of us understanding as He did in the days of Daniel, in the name of Jesus Christ!
