Toady’s Exhortation
The Lord seems to have a fascinating way of calling people into the ministry and the service of the Lord. There are two parts of the calling;
- What you must do
- What you will be made into; (what you are becoming).
The Lord instructed all those He called to follow Him; and He showed them the results or the end of their commitment. He called them with a simple sentence “FOLLOW ME and I WILL MAKE YOU FISHERS OF MEN!” This was how He called everyone He met. There was no ambiguity. He was clear about what the call was all about.
I can hear the same voice today calling men and women across the cities of the world. God is calling us to follow Him and become fishers of men. May you hear His voice and open the doors of your heart to Him. This is our time to give. He called us to follow Him; when you follow, you learn and become what the Lord wants you to be.
I pray that you will not take this calling lightly. Many are called but few are chosen. Many take this call for granted and lose big time. God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek and follow Him. None that paid the huge price of following goes empty handed. You will receive rewards both in this life and the one to come. This is a new day and a good one to answer the call.
Today’s Prayer
- Pray that God will give you the grace to follow and to learn from Him. May you never be misled! May you find the path He leads and walk in it
- Pray that your faith will not fail; whether through the thick and the thin: the crowd and the lonely paths. Pray for the grace to labour on; spending and being spent! Pray for grace!
- Pray that the Lord will deliver you from wicked and unreasonable men! May you escape the traps and schemes of men! May you find peace and protection under the wings of the Almighty!
