1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 KJV — And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; [13] and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
The seed for today is to highly esteem your pastor in love and pray for him for the work sake. The work of your pastor is hard and demanding; without your deep respect, love, and prayers for your pastor for the sake of work.
The work of ministry can be overwhelming and very challenging. The demands of ministry;
- the compulsory daily prayer and daily word study,
- the compulsory daily reading of relevant materials,
- the daily self control and separation,
- the daily honest and godly living, and
- the congregation care of visitation, interaction, and counselling with its attendant hurts, betrayals and misrepresentation is too much work.
It is important to understand that beyond all these, many pastors are preaching, overseeing, and delegating while nursing many wounds and hurts. Many men and women are dying daily while they minister heavily under the anointing. The work of ministry is challenging and the least we can do is to love and pray for our pastors.
Apostle Paul exhorted the church to keep and bear them up in prayers. We must love and pray for our pastors for the sake of the work! Let us pray for our pastor. Hebrews 13:18 says “Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly”. We must not relent! We must keep praying and bearing these men and women in prayer!
Stay blessed
