“The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes: so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” — John 3:8
Just as the natural wind refreshes, moves, and changes the atmosphere, so the wind of God – the Holy Spirit – revives and renews His Church.
When this divine wind blows, lifeless bones receive strength, dry hearts burn again with passion, and the works of the flesh give way to the fruits of the Spirit.
The Church cannot thrive without the continual breath of God. We must therefore open our hearts and our altars to His move once again until His glory fills the house.
- Let us pray that the Father shall revive His Church and breathe afresh upon every heart! Ask that every form of spiritual dryness, coldness, and slumber shall give way to fresh fire and divine hunger for His presence (See Ezekiel 37:9–10).
- Pray that the wind of the Spirit shall blow through the Church, sweeping away every impurity, tradition, and self-glory that hinder the move of God. Ask that He will purify our motives and restore holy zeal for His kingdom (See Malachi 3:2–3).
- Ask the Lord to stir the ministers and leaders of His Church with renewed boldness and sensitivity to the Spirit, that they may not quench the wind of God but move in step with Him (See Acts 4:29–31).
- Let us pray that the wind of revival shall blow beyond our gatherings, touching communities, cities, and nations with the transforming power of God’s Spirit. Ask that the Church will become a channel of healing, salvation, and awakening everywhere (See Acts 2:1–4, 41–47).
Surely, as we lift our voices in faith, the same Spirit who hovered over the deep at creation will move again in our midst. The wind of God will blow, and the Church shall live!
