Matthew 6:9–13 (KJV) — “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”
“Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”
Devotional Exhortation
At Christmas, families gather with both joy and complexity, celebrations mixed with loss, laughter alongside tension, and hope sometimes shadowed by need.
Jesus teaches us to pray by first lifting our eyes to a loving Father, then inviting His kingdom and will into our everyday lives.
As we pray the Lord’s Prayer over our families, we ask God to shape our homes into places where His name is honored, His provision is trusted, His forgiveness is practiced, and His protection is known.
This season, let us intentionally pray for families in our church and community, believing that God meets us not just in sanctuaries, but around tables, in living rooms, and in the ordinary rhythms of family life.
Prayer Points (Pray for Families):
- That God would be known as Father in every home, bringing belonging and love.
- That God’s will and kingdom would shape family relationships and decisions.
- That our families would trust God for daily provision, spiritual, emotional, and physical.
- That our hearts would be filled with forgiveness, grace, and reconciliation.
- That God would protect families from temptation and harm, strengthening unity.
- That every family would reflect God’s glory, peace, and hope this Christmas.
Amen and amen!
