James 1:5–7 (KJV) — “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering… For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.”
In the text above, apostle James wrote this exhortation to believers who were facing trials, pressures, and difficult decisions. In such seasons, wisdom is not optional, it is essential. God knew His people would need divine direction to endure and overcome, so He made wisdom freely available to all who ask.
God is not reluctant to answer His children. He invites us to ask and assures us that He gives generously and without reproach. However, the posture of our asking matters. Faith is not merely believing that God can answer, but trusting that He will.
Doubt creates instability, it pulls the heart in opposite directions, and weakens expectations. When we ask in faith, we align our hearts with God’s character and open ourselves to receive what He has already promised.
Today, choose to trust God fully, stand firm on His Word, and ask with confident expectation.
Prayer:
Father, I thank You because You give wisdom generously. I ask today in faith, without wavering. Help me to trust You completely and to stand firm on Your Word. Amen.
