Mark 5:19 KJVS – Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
It’s natural to want a bigger platform before you share your story, but Jesus often sends you back to familiar ground first. The man in this passage had just experienced a life-transforming encounter, and instead of taking him along, Jesus told him to go home.
Why? Because your testimony is most powerful where your struggle was known. The real question is: will you stay silent where it matters most, or will you speak up where your story can make the greatest impact?
Your testimony carries weight because it is real. People who saw your battles, your doubts, and your past are the ones who will recognize the depth of your transformation. You don’t need perfect words, you need honesty about what God has done.
When you testify, you give others proof that change is possible. Your story becomes a bridge between someone else’s struggle and their breakthrough. What God has done in you is not just for you; it’s a message meant to spark hope in others.
So start where you are. Go back to your family, your friends, your circle, and tell them what God has done. Don’t wait for perfection, share the progress. Speak boldly, live consistently, and let your life back up your words.
Today, make a decision to open your mouth and testify. Someone close to you is waiting to hear a story that could change their life, and you already carry it.
Amen
