[Exodus 14:13-16 KJV] “And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD , which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever”.
“The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: but lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.”
I came to announce to you this morning, like Moses, that this is the time to be still. This is the time to be still! This is the time to keep your calm. I don’t know where you are and what you might be going through but one thing I know is it is better to be still than to complain and murmur or fight the wrong battle.
I encourage you to be still because;
1. Our God is God:
“He is not a man that He should lie nor the son of man that he should repent. Whatever he has promised, he Will do”. He does not fail. He neither sleeps nor slumber! God is God and we shall not be afraid. That is why I encourage you to be still.
2. Our God is on top of His Game:
God has never lost a battle and He will not lose this battle. All He needs is for us to be still. If you do anything other than what He has said, you will thwart the battle plan. The enemy may be chasing you very hard, even after intense prayer; for all you know, it is part of God’s battle plan. He said, “I will harden the heart of Pharaoh that he might destroy him”. Be still and see the hand of the Lord at work.
3. You can organise your thoughts better when you’re still:
When you fear, you empower the devil to win the battle. Your peace and tranquility is your weapon. Your peace is your supreme weapon; don’t let the devil steal it. Your stillness and silence are great weapons against the enemy of your soul. Be still. and know that God is God.
4. It will help you not to jump the gun:
Being still will help you not to go ahead of God. Listen, your peace will help you to see what God is doing. Many people go ahead of God because of panic and fear. King Saul forced himself to offer a sacrifice he was not called to. He lost the kingdom because he acted in fear. May the Lord help you not fear. You must be still!
5. It is the will of God:
Philippians 4:6 teaches us to be anxious for nothing; rather in all things let your request be made known, in prayer, supplication, intercession with thanksgiving. Let us learn to be still!
6. Even snakes seldomly bite still bodies:
When you encounter a snake or a beast, your greatest trump card is to remain still and keep your calm. Most beasts will not attack a calm and still prey. When you are still, it is difficult for the enemy to predict your next move.
Be blessed
