[et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text”]We have learnt that there is a thief out there who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy; the son of God, however, came that you might have life and abound with life. This is the time however to beat the devil to the game. We must awake and not allow the devil to have an advantage over us. We want to explore the schemes and wiles by which the devil gains access to and control our lives.
Text
[2 Corinthians 2:10-11 KJV] “To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ; [11] Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices”.
Discussion
The word of God tells us clearly that when we become ignorant of the devices and schemes of the enemy, he will gain an advantage over us. We must arise and gain the illumination into the operations of darkness. We must be alert and not be tricked into things that will eventually destroy us and what we are building.
This is the time to beat the devil to the game. The church must wake up and not allow the enemy to take us for a ride. We must arise and outwit the devil. May you recieve light as we go into these details! The device of the devil is to;
1. Get you to believe his lies;
When the devil comes all he needs to do is to get you to believe in lies. The Bible encourages us to put on the whole Armour of God, so that we can stand the wiles or deception of darkness.
[Ephesians 6:11 KJV] “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil”.
2. Inspire faith in vanity:
The Bible tells us that those who are deceived trust in vanity. The second scheme is to get you to believe in vanity. As long as the devil succeed in getting you to believe in vanity, you are doomed. The greatest danger is when today’s generation trust in vanity and reap the wind. Many of the things we are running after have no substance. It does not endure.
[Job 15:31 KJV] “Let not him that is deceived trust in vanity: for vanity shall be his recompence”.
The devil has been able to get us to believe in vanity and many are chasing the wind. Surely many will reap vanity.
3. Feed your anger and resentment:
The devil have access to and control your life when he gets you to feed your anger and resentment. Anger is a beast and poison. You must not let the sun go down on your anger.
[Ephesians 4:26-27 KJV] “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil”.
The Bible tells us that anger rest in the blossom of a fool. You must be careful how you act when you are angry. I know the kind of embarrassment that anger can cause you. Let us strive to manage and control our anger.
4. Unforgiveness
The fourth device of devils is feeding on your pain and cause you to bear grudge. Beware of people who tickle your pain point. You must always strive to release people and not bear grudge. It is a deadly poison.
5. Refusing to acknowledge the truth:
The next device of darkness is when people refuse to acknowledge the truth. There are times when the only reason why the devil has a hold on someone because they are refusing to acknowledge the truth. Immediately we begin to acknowledge the truth, you loose ourselves from his chains.
[2 Timothy 2:24-26 KJV] “And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, [25] In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; [26] And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will”.
5. Getting you to judge things after the outward appearance:
Eve was trapped because she looked upon the fruit and saw that it was good for food and to make a man wise.
[2 Corinthians 10:3, 7 KJV] “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? [7] If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ’s, even so are we Christ’s”.
I pray that you shall be enlightened from today and not give the devil an advantage over us. I pray that you will stop devils from stopping the church.
Be blessed; I love you!
