We have been taught by the Holy Spirit that three simple secrets to live with eternity in mind is to believe the gospel, build up yourself on your most holy faith, and live a simple life. These are three simple secrets to living the abundant life.
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few (Acts 17:11-12 KJV)
How do you believe the gospel? In simple terms we all need a preacher to have our own faith, and also to build faith. Preachers are central to the growing of faith. The following is how to believe the gospel:
1. Don’t label the preacher:
The Apostle Paul demanded that “every man should account of us as ministers of Christ and Stewards of the manifold mysteries of God” (1 Corinthians 4:1-2). We cannot believe unless we remove the labels off the preacher.
2. Listen with readiness of mind:
Without listening with rapt attention and a ready mind, you can’t be a noble believer. It takes nobility to listen with a ready mind.
3. Take notes when listening and search the Scriptures daily:
The people of Berea took notes and referred to the Scriptures to ensure that the truths were so written.
4. Memorize the message:
1 Corinthians 15:1-2 teaches that the gospel can save us if we keep it in memory.
These are the four simple secrets to believe and build faith. You will believe and that faith will take you far.
