“But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole” (Luke 8:50 KJV)

Today’s Bible Reading: Luke 8:41-56

There is nothing as frustrating as being in a hurry whilst God is not. There are times when your situation makes you feel that God must hold on with everything else just to attend to you. I can understand that feeling but it’s important to know that delays are not denials at all. We serve a God of seasons and times. He is always right on time if we continue to believe Him.

The title of our exhortation today; “only believe” are the exact words of our Lord Jesus Christ to Jarius, a ruler of the Synagogue, when he sought the Lord to heal his daughter. On their way, the master was not in a hurry. Indeed, he is Lord, the Lord of all. It appeared as though the Lord was delaying. And when it was reported to him that his daughter was dead, Jesus immediately answered: “only believe!”.

What report have you received?  Did they say it’s too late?

Sometimes you might as well laugh at such reports, because if you have already presented it to the Lord in prayer, then it can never be too late. Only believe! Fear not! Doubt not! Only believe, and the Lord will honour your faith. The Lord will meet you at the point of your faith, not your need.

There were many widows in Samaria, but God met the widow with faith. There were many lepers in Samaria but God healed only Naaman, a Syrian (See Luke 4:25-27).  God always meets people at their faith.

Amen!
