Colossians 2:8 KJV — “Beware lest any man spoil you philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ”.
I want to exhort you of the need to beware of the hollow philosophy and vain deceit which is built on two shallow things:
- The traditions of men and
- The rudiments of the world
Apostle Paul is teaching that any philosophy which is not built after Christ and the teachings of Christ is a philosophy that can spoil you. There is a subtle and a more bold attempt to spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit.
I pray that you will not fall victim. May you always seek for philosophy that is built on Christ and the teachings of Christ! May the teaching of Christ form the basis of your faith and philosophy! I pray that the Holy Spirit shall lead you into all truth. May you never lack instruction and guidance into truth.
Receive the grace and the humility to endure sound doctrine and win in this life. May your pride never lead you astray. May the gracious hand of God sustain and keep you from shame and deceit!
Beware of people who speak more about traditions and customs rather than the teaching of Christ. Traditions of men will destroy you. We must strive to know Him and His teachings. We must strive to know Christ and His teachings. The terrain of faith and religion is so slippery in these last days and you must be careful.
