Jeremiah 4:3-4 KJV — “For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns. [4] Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.“
Praise the Lord, we are spending this day meditating on breaking up your fallow grounds. As the years change, we must prepare our grounds before putting in our seeds and effort. God is admonishing that you do not sow among thorns.
This is because sowing among thorns will rob you of fruitfulness. Thorns kill the soil’s ability to yield fruits
What are thorns and how do you break up your grounds?
Apostle Paul refers to the thorns as infirmities, persection, reproaches, distresses, and neccessities. We must arise and pray that God will step in and help us.
2 Corinthians 12:7-10 KJV — “And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. [8] For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.”
[9] “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. [10] Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.“
Thorns according to th parable of the sower are the cares of life, anxiety, pride of life, decietfulness of riches, lust of the eyes; may we pray that God will help us deal with these traps.
Matthew 13:22 KJV — “He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.“
The Bible tells us not to love the world nor anythng in it. We must break up our fallow grond.
We are the body of Christ and our business is to reach the lost wherever they are. We are to love one another, to forgive one another and to help one another fulfil our ministries.
May the Lord break the power of anything that will fight this purpose! May God give us grace to excel inspite of these! May He supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory! May the Lord deliver you from wicked and unreasonable men!
Stay blessed
