Today’s scripture
Matthew 7:24-27 KJV — Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: [25] and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
[26] And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: [27] and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Today’s exhortation
It’s better to have a relationship with God reading your Bible and praying everyday than to hold a church office without a relationship. It’s great to serve in church but greater to have a solid relationship with God. Reading your Bible and praying everyday as well as obeying the truth you read. The man that hears the sayings of the Lord and does the same is as a man that built his house upon a rock. The rain may come and beat upon it but the house will stand.
It’s important to understand that both those who obey and those who don’t will go through the same things but the outcome will be different. The house and lives of those who obey are built on a rock to stay; though they may face the storms; their house will be standing. The story is however different for those who did not obey; the storm will destroy their houses and lives. I chose to have a relationship with God; to read my Bible and pray everyday. I want to obey the word and stay in it.
Most often than not life is unpredictable but with Jesus Christ on board, you are safe. When you have a relationship with Jesus; reading your Bible and praying everyday, you are better prepared to face the future whether thick, thin, dark or bright. With Jesus Christ, you are never a loser; you are in safe hands and the future is safe and guaranteed!
The simple secrets to survive the test is to;
- Read your Bible everyday
- Pray everyday
- Fellowship and witness everyday
Today’s Prayer
Dear Father, help me to stay in close relationship with you. Help me to be faithful with reading my Bible and praying everyday. Help me to obey you and win the battle against backsliding!
