He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever”.
If Psalm 23 is in the Bible and every word of God in Christ is yea and in him is amen; why are many people still living in want, poverty, and being pursued by curses and witches? Many are poor, in want and struggling because they are not the Lord’s sheep.
It is one thing to say “the Lord is my shepherd” and another thing to say “I am the Lord’s sheep”. When you say the Lord is my shepherd, you shift the responsibility to the Lord, it then becomes a leadership thing; but when you say I am the Lord’s sheep, then you become responsible, it becomes a followership thing.
When I acknowledge that I am the sheep of His pasture, then I seek the pasture. Christianity is about following. You must desire to follow, and not to be led. When you decide to follow, you hunger after the leader and not the leader chasing after you.
Church! It is about time we learn to seek after God. As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul must pant for the Lord. I pray that we hunger more for God. Christianity has become a struggle because many of us are not hungry for God. To a hungry man, every bitter thing is sweet but to a man who is full, even honey is tasteless.
If you are a sheep of the Lord, then thus saith the Lord “My sheep know, hear and follow My voice”:
The sheep knows, hears, and follows the shepherd’s voice, the sheep will not follow a stranger’s voice (See John 10).
How come many of us recite psalm 23 and still follow a stranger’s voice. Why are many of us running after strange doctrines and prophecies? Mostly, it is because the church is not maturing (See Ephesians 4:10-16)
Many of us run after false prophets and go awhoring after strange spirits; but the sheep knows, hears, and follows the voice of the shepherd. Stop running after the strange voice if you really want goodness and mercy to follow you.
Acts 2:40-42 teaches that some gladly received the word. It is time to gladly receive the word as sheep and yield to the promptings of the Holy Ghost.
Continue steadfastly in the shepherd’s doctrine and fellowship, prayer, and breaking of bread:
The shepherd make his sheep lie down in green pasture, leads them besides the stilled water, leads them in the paths of righteousness (which may go through the valley of the shadows of death). The journey may be challenged but we must press on steadfastly. Some are too soon shaken when we face trials and temptations; trials and temptations may abound but the faithful shepherd will stay true and faithful to us. You will fear no evil! Shout amen!
Connect and stay connected to the flock amongst us:
In every church there are two classes of people; the mixed multitude and the flock. If you want to command goodness and mercy, you must connect with the flock among us and not with the mixed multitudes. God feeds His sheep in folds; connect with a fold. In commanding goodness and mercy, there is a place in belonging to a local church.
Live, give, and serve the brotherhood in the unity of the spirit and in a bond of peace:
Your lifestyle, your alms and giving, and service and ministry will bring you before Heaven and before kings.
Go for the anointing; stay in an atmosphere of the anointing:
He will anoint your head with oil; He will anoint your head with oil as you wine and dine with Him.
Share your testimony, faith and the word;
As you speak the Lord creates. The Bible says He that loves life and will see good days must refrain his tongue from evil and lips from speaking guile. Speak the word, declare your faith boldly, testify to the nations and you will see goodness and mercy.
As the Lord lives and your soul lives; goodness shall follow you! Mercy shall follow you! You will go far! Receive it!
Stay blessed; I love you!
