[1 Peter 5:8-10 KJV] “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you”.
Every believer has an adversary and we must all be aware of this adversary; his name is Satan. He walks about roaring as a lion, seeking whom he may devour. The adversary is not out there to lick, bite, sting or scratch you; he is there to devour you if possible.
There are only three things that you can do to stop this adversary and to overcome:
Be sober:
Many of us are drunk. Some are drunk with immaturity, others are drunk with beauty, and some are also drunk with youthful exuberance, with power, or with money. Many of the people in the church are not sober. Many are really drunk and high on drugs.
Be vigilant:
Live with your eyes and senses actively at work.
Resist him steadfastly in the faith, knowing that the same affliction is accomplish in your brothers who are in the world:
Nobody has it with ease. The devil is after everyone of us and wants to devour whoever he can.
Stay blessed; I love you!
