[Ephesians 5:15-17 KJV] “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.“
The Bible teaches that though your beginning may be small, your end shall greatly increase. This truth encourages my heart; and I have no doubt that there are good days ahead. I believe that the Lord is orchestrating all things; the good, the bad, and the ugly to work to your good.
As we step into the coming season, you can only hope for the best because we serve the faithful God. The one of the things that could stand between you and greatly increasing are time wasters.
Time wasters are people, behaviours, obligations, phenomena, outlooks that cause you to spend a lot of time doing things that do not contribute to productivity.
Top 15 time wasters include;
- People in your circle who don’t believe in you or your vision
- Insubordinate subordinates in your circle
- Unteachable team members
- Contentious dependants
- People you have to mico-manage
- Scorners and their cronies
- People who bring you down
- Weight and sins that easily beset you
- Perfectionism
- Procrastination and Distractions
- Unclear objectives or goals
- Reverse and/or lack of delegation
- Stopping to answer every cat-call
- Meetings with no agenda
- Social media
Simple steps to deal with time wasters are;
- Walk with wisdom and circumspection and not as fools
- Set clear goals
- Determine and outline tasks to carry out to achieve goals
- Appraise periodically to track progress towards goals and make amends, if neccessary
Remember that trying to avoid time wasters does not mean optimising every single second of your life. If you attempt to promise every single second of your life, you may burn out and diminishing returns may set in.
In all you do find time to;
- Pray and meditate
- Read and listen to good preaching
- Rest, Socialise and Sleep and/or nap

- Father, thank You for the gift of time and life. We thank You for 2022 and the days ahead. We are grateful to be alive to see these days. Thank You Lord! Thank You!
- Open my eyes to know Your will and purpose. Help us to set good goals. Show us the way to go. Give us the wisdom and understanding to walk in the way. Help us to redeem the time.
- Grant us the courage and strength to purge our circles of time wasters. We frustrate the tokens of time wasters. Anybody sent to waste my time shall not succeed.
- We bind any demons and devils sent to waste our time and to slow us down! We bind principalities and powers! We bind the powers of darkness and frustrate all the tokens of devils and darkness in the name of Jesus!
- We decree that no frustration or delays shall prosper against us. I pray for speed, grace, and stamina. Neither horsemen nor foot men can frustrate us!
- May the stars of heaven fight on our behalf! Pray that God will send angels and help from above. Pray for the host of heaven to help us in the name of Jesus!
