I want to stand with Apostle Paul and encourage you this day not to be ashamed of the gospel of Christ.
[Romans 1:16-21 KJV] “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.“
“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.“
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. “
“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse::
“because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.“
There may be many more things to believe and be proud of, but one thing that you should never be ashamed of is to say that I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God who was sent to be ransom for all. You should never be ashamed to say that “while we were yet sinners Christ died for us”, yea He rose again. You should never be ashamed to say that you know Jesus is the Son of God.
The consequences of doubting the gospel are dire. You must not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ! You must believe, speak and share the gospel. You must believe and tell your generations that you believe! I stand with Apostle Paul and declare that I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ! I am proud that I heard the gospel and believed. I need no other argument nor persuasion. It is enough to know that Jesus died, and indeed He died and rose again for me.
It is too risky to be ashamed of the gospel of Christ. It has not ended well with people who rejected the gospel. Here are four reason why you should not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ:
1. The gospel is the power of God to save…
There is no other power to save man except the gospel. To reject the gospel is to reject the power that can save you. The gospel is the power of God to save. It’s the grace that saves. Don’t be ashamed of the power of God to save. The gospel is power; great power!
2. The gospel reveals the righteousness of God from faith to faith…
We know that the just shall live by faith, and the gospel reveals the righteousness of God. The gospel, therefore, supplies the faith you need for daily living. The gospel helps you to believe and rely on God. As you spend time in the gospel, you see how much God is righteousness and it helps your faith. Those who are ashamed of the gospel are ashamed of what will supply them the essential ingredients to live a just life. Your faith degenerates when you become ashamed of the gospel.
It is dangerous things to conceal the truth in ungodliness….
It is a very dangerous thing to know the truth as it is revealed in the gospel and conceal it. The Bible says the wrath of God is coming against people who conceal the truth. You must reveal the truth as it is shown to you. The wrath of God is against those who are ashamed of the gospel and for that matter hide it. The man in the parable of talents who hide his talent was punished.
Those who are ashamed of the gospel degenerate….
When people reject the claims of the gospel, they become slaves to their own vile imaginations. People who are ashamed of the gospel slam into degeneration and become perverted. This generation is perverted and degenerated because, we have rejected the gospel. God has handed us over to vain imagination, foolishness, and darkened hearts. We have lost it because we are ashamed of the power that saves.
May the Lord have mercy on us! May He graciously work on our hearts to awaken us to a revival! May the Lord send a revival and may it begin in me! Don’t be ashamed of the gospel!
