[Romans 10:16 KJV] “But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?”
[2 Corinthians 4:1-4 KJV] “Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; but have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.”
“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
Turn with me to 1 Corinthians 4:3-4. Apostle Paul is speaking to us about the fact that this world had a god. This god blinds the minds of those who do not believe.
He has blinded many from seeing the glorious light of the gospel. The god of this world can only blind you when;
- You refuse to believe the gospel we preach: All you have to do to catch this disease called blindness is to doubt my gospel. Faith is the key that opens the door to enlightenment! You must believe to see.
- You are self-conceited: Most of than not spiritually blind people are self-conceited. They think that just because they cannot see it; it does not exist. There are many things that are hidden from the mortal man. You will be enlightened when you understand that there is more to life than what meets the eye.
- You judge things after the outward appearance: There is a deeper and more far-reaching matter in everything than the eyes can see. You must not see and judge things after the appearance. Men look on the outward but God looks at the heart. (See 2 Corinthians 10:3-4)
- You are carnal: When you are more focused on earthly things. The devil will blind you when you think that riches is gain. You become carnal and spiritual things look foolish to you. A carnal man cannot receive spiritual things. There are times when people think, they are so powerful because of money. This is the time; to focus on something higher than you.
- You love the world or anything in it: Friendship with the world is enmity with God.
- You are ungrateful
This is the time, don’t let the devil blind you. You must;
- Read your Bible and pray every day. Pray that the Lord will give you wisdom and counsel and understanding.
- Receive with meekness the engrafted word which can save you.
- Mix what you hear with faith; that is how it will profit you.
