Believing For Everyday Life

And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,  

And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.  

And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.  

Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.  

And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.  

And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.  

And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. 

And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.  

When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.  

For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:  

And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. 

And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.  

And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

For your faith to impact everyday life, remember that:

1. Faith is for the marketplace of life:

Faith is for everyday living. Faith is for day-to-day living. The Word of God must play a role in everyday little decisions if we are going to be a people who eat the fruits of life.

2. Faith comes by hearing the Master’s word;

The master gives the general word to you; but wisdom is profitable to direct; in effect, God is not speaking every day. Listen, God will tell you what you ought to do, but wisdom is profitable to direct for efficiency. Understand that the anointing enables performance, and skill is necessary for effectiveness, but faith comes by hearing the Word of the Master.

3. Faith is a force that must inspire positive and godly action.

Your ability to believe what you have read, heard or seen in God’s Word is what will spur you on to act. Without faith it is impossible to act on God’s Word. Peter needed to believe the word of the Master before he could receive a bumper catch. ‘: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.’  Peter said.

4. Faith is a channel to access supernatural possibilities:

If you can believe and act, then you shall access the realm of possibilities. As you believe you step into the realms of possibilities. Faith is that force that enables you to hold on and to press on even when the circumstances are hopeless.

The life of apostle Peter in the text reveals that faith can impact on everyday life. Truthfully, you will see change in your everyday life as you keep growing in grace and knowledge. Your faith will deliver if you decide to allow your faith to impact your everyday life; if you keep listening to the Master’s word; if you allow your faith to inspire positive and godly action.  In fact, as you allow your faith to urge you on, you will step into possibilities.
