[Luke 6:36-38 KJV] “Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. [37] Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: [38] Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again”.
If there are any principles that governs a good life, it would be; (1) Giving, (2) Repentance, apology and forgiveness, and (3) Thanksgiving.
We must understand that life processes and gives back what you give to it and what you give to people. The Bible says, “give and it will come back to you, a good measure, press down shaken together, running over.” Life has a way of giving back to us what we give to it. Whatsoever a man sows, that shall he reap; when you sow in the flesh, you reap corruption; when you sow in the spirit you reap eternal life. Most often than not, we reap what we sow; the only way to interrupt this cycle is by repentance and remission of sins.
Life is likely to process and give back to you what you’ve sown. There is, therefore, the need to move in swiftly and ask for forgiveness when you realize that you have sown a seed that you don’t want to reap on. This is why we preach repentance and the remission of sins. You must be just, don’t continue to hurt and offend people. You must strive to make peace with all men. When you are forgiven, be grateful.
Therefore, giving, forgiveness, and giving of thanks are the three spiritual practices that governs equity. We must learn to give, forgive, and give thanks always. We must learn to make the world a peaceful and a better place by doing these 3 things, because, when people are forgiven, they often do better.
I watched a video of a murderer on death row who asked for forgiveness from the family of his victims. Exactly 7 hours and 15 minutes away from the electric chair, his execution was interrupted by a guard who said he wasnt going to die that day. Apparently, the family of his victims forgave him, and together with a local group, filed a stay of execution for him.
He was then released after 6 years, and presently, he is a pastor, preaching around the world on the power of forgiveness.
We can change the world when we learn to forgive those who wrong us. Be blessed.
