I will still continue my series on radical soulwinning.
[2 Peter 3:17-18 KJV] “Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.“
I want to teach that a radical soulwinner is that person that grows in favour and the knowledge of the Lord. Radical soulwinning require growth. Growth is an important part of being a radical soulwinner.
It is important to remember that grace is favour, usually unmerited favour. Many of us interpret unmerited as chance. Many people think grace comes upon careless people. That is an error, grace does not come upon careless people; rather grace comes upon those who are trying their best but their best is not enough. Grace is a top up. It is that divine influence that compensate for what you lack. Grace therefore comes upon people who are trying their best, not those feeding their weaknesses.
The simple steps to grow in grace and favour and before men are:
Continue steadfastly in prayer, fellowship, doctrine, generosity, gladness, and singleness of heart.
Both God and men favour grateful people. People who are grateful and content with what God is doing in their lives attract more favour and grace. Gratitude and thanksgiving is a password. Just open new doors of favour with the password “thank you”. When you despise you previous helper, other smart helpers are weary of you. When you despise the man who taught you how to take your first steps, no smart person will be willing to help the day you fall in public. (Acts 2:42)
[Acts 2:42-47 KJV] “And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common; and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.”
“And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.“
Embrace where you are but be readying yourself for the next level.
David was favoured over his brothers because he was ready for the next level. While he was tendering his father’s few sheep, he was getting ready to be king. God found a servant in him while he was with the few sheep. David was not appointed king while working in the Palace, he was appointed king while working in the wilderness. Your promotion does not come on the platform; your promotion comes in the wilderness.
Cultivate the right attitude
You will grow in favour when you have the right attitude before God. How can you be serving a man and stand before that man and say I don’t care who despises you; I am living my life. How can you serve before a man and say I don’t care what happens to you; that is your problem, I am living my life. David had the heart of a servant; and served the interest of his boss even in his death. Many of you are not growing in grace because you have a bad heart.
“But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.“
(1 Samuel 16:7 KJV)
God weighs the heart of a man and not his outward appearance.
Groom and dress for every occasion
Look classy, sharp, and decent. Men will always look on the outward. We are humans and we will always look on the outward appearance.
Behave yourself wisely
In five instances and in five different scenarios, the Bible bears witness that David behaved himself wisely. Please, favour does not come to fools, a wise son makes his father’s house glad.
“And David went out whithersoever Saul sent him, and behaved himself wisely: and Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul’s servants. And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was with him.”
“Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he was afraid of him. Then the princes of the Philistines went forth: and it came to pass, after they went forth, that David behaved himself more wisely than all the servants of Saul; so that his name was much set by.” (1 Samuel 18:5, 14-15, 30 KJV)
Behave yourself wisely; the pride and foolishness is too much. Let us behave ourselves wisely.
Sharpen your gifts
The gifts of a man shall bring him before kings and mighty people.
Be loyal and faithful
Stay blessed
