[Revelation 2:4-5 KJV] “Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.“
I believe fire, passion, and zest is the very essence of life. Boredom leads to foolish choices and brute desire for pleasure. People who live life with zest and passion are those who are really alive; but the many hustles of life have left many of us without zeal and passion. I want to exhort you on the three simple keys to restoring the fire and passion back to what you do.
The Lord enumerates three simple keys: remember, repent, and return to thel doing of the first things. Revival does not happen in vacuum; it happens in a helpful context.
1. Remember from where you have fallen
Backsliding does not happen in a day; it occurs over time. You can only restore the spark back to the marriage bed, to the ministry, to life, to the relationship, to the business; when you can remember from where you have fallen. Stop riding on past glories and begin to work harder towards the mark of the calling. There is an expectation of us and we must meet that expectation!
2. Repent; have a change of mind.
There is no way you can find restoration if you are not ready to have a mind change or renewal. Your transformation come through changing your mind. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. A man is no different from his thoughts. Stinking thinking leads to a stinking life. Your life is a reflection of your thoughts; repent! Embrace the truth as is taught in the word of God.
3. Return and do the first works
Thinkers will remain thinkers; talkers will remain talkers; only doers will be achievers. May the Lord give you grace to do as you have been taught.
Stay blessed
