It is paramount that we finish this race of faith together.
We have entered the holiest place in heaven and earth and even under the earth or above the heavens. We have entered the holiest place by a new and living way which is in the body of Christ. We have, by faith in Christ, entered into the most sacred and sanctified place where men could ever enter. We enter by the blood of Jesus. We enter the place where God lives.
[Hebrews 10:19-29 KJV] “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, [20] By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;“
[21] “And having an high priest over the house of God; [22] Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. [23] Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) [24] And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:”
[25] “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is ; but exhorting one another : and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. [26] For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, [27] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries”.
[28] “He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: [29] Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
It is important to state that Jesus Christ is the priest over this house that we have been made partakers of. The new covenant reality, therefore, is that we enter the holiest place and have Christ as our high priest. This is the place where God lives, but we enter into to worship and seek grace to help in the day of need. Any time you enter, remember that Jesus Christ is the high priest of that house.
In order to continue and to gain access continually to this place, there are four things we can do:
1. Draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith:
This is because our hearts are sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies are washed with pure water. So, give up hypocrisy, and draw near with a true heart.
2. Hold fast to the profession of your faith without wavering:
Remember Abraham, he held fast to his profession. Even against hope he hoped, because he had counted God faithful. Things may not be going the way you expect it to go but keep hoping. Hold fast and don’t waver. Joseph also believed to the end, he even ordered that his bones should be carried along with them to the Promised Land. Hold on tightly to the things we began to believe and don’t allow anything to sway your faith or confession.
3. Provoke one another to love and to goodworks:
This is because the days are evil and the love of many are waxing cold. Do not let your deeds and words discourage people. Provoke the brethren to good works. Work hard to make people fall in love with God and the work of God.
4. Don’t forsake the assembling of ourselves together, but rather exhorting one another:
Coming together is our secret to strength. When we gather, His Spirit dwells within us. When we gather, we see His mighty hand move. Hahahaha! Let us keep gathering, and we shall finish well and finish together.
This is because, if we willfully sin after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, only perdition is left for us. Remember that if those who sinned in the days of Moses died without mercy, then those who despise the Spirit shall die without mercy. Therefore, draw nigh with a true heart, hold fast to your profession, provoke one another unto love and to good works, and honour our appointments to assemble together. Stay blessed.
