How do you make progress towards your destiny? This message will give you 9 Biblical strategies to help you to make consistent progress towards your God-given destiny, so let’s dive right in.
[Philippians 3:7-19 KJV] “But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord:”
:for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, and be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:”
“that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.”
“Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended:”
“but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.”
“Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.”
“(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)”
We are making a journey with Jesus and there is a destiny arranged for us to arrive. Jesus Christ is leading us and there is a place He wants us to get to. How do we make consistent progress to this destiny? How can you arrive and not fall nor fail by the way? Many began this journey just as we have, but not many finished the journey as planned. Many started but only a few finished. What then is the secrets to finishing this journey?
9 Strategies to making progress towards destiny
The simple strategies to making consistent progress towards destiny are:
1. Count all fleshy, material, and earthly things that you could be proud of as nothing but loss:
The truth is, anything you exalt will make God look small in your eyes. Anything you exalt will make you despise God. Until you can count all earthly achievements as nothing but dung, you are not ready to see increase. Apostle Paul counted all things as dung that he might lay hold on the excellency of the knowledge of Christ.
2. Focus on knowing and becoming like Jesus Christ:
Your main preoccupation must be to know Christ; to know His purpose, His manner of life, His afflictions, and His teaching. Those who know their God shall wax strong and do exploits.
3. Don’t be complacent no matter how fast or far you come:
Many do not arrive at their destination because they become complacent. It is true that you have come far but not so far to be complacent. There is more to go and pressing on matters a lot
4. Celebrate every little milestone:
The fourth secret is to celebrate every milestone. You may not have gotten where you desire to be but you are not where you used to be; it is a good reason to be thankful for the little progress you make towards destiny.
5. Forget the things that are behind:
You must be able to drop things in the past. Nobody makes progress while always looking in the rear mirror. You will make progress if you look forward and press on. Forget the things which are behind and press on wai!
6. Push yourself all little:
Press on and press in. It is time to push yourself a little. You cannot leave life to chance. We must exert ourselves a little. We must press on and press in. This is the time to push; keep praying, keep believing, keep grinding; “God dey, we dey”.
7. Reach forth, stretch towards the mark of the high calling of Christ:
Reaching forth means stretching a little. It is not enough to push, you must also stretch yourself a little. Reach forth, keep stretching and try to reach forward; it may be hard but it is not impossible!
8. Mind the same rules and things by which you have come thus far:
Many people change when they begin to make progress and advance. Many people get engrossed with success. Success unveils the true colours of many people. When they begin to succeed, they change; their true self and pride shows. If you want to arrive safely; don’t change the rules.
9. Mark and follow those who have us for an example:
Mark and follow those who follow the men of faith. Avoid the company of those who despise the people of faith. You must follow with those who call upon God out of a pure heart.
Stay blessed
