[Ephesians 6:11-13 KJV] “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
I want to speak on how to prepare against an evil day. We know that all days are not equal. Some days have longer days and shorter nights; others have shorter days and longer nights. Some days are better than others, and some are worse than others. There is the need to prepare against evil days.
The Bible teaches that if you fail in the day of adversity, then your strength is little. We must all get ready; ready for the days ahead. Remember, what we are dealing with is bigger than flesh and blood. We are up against principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places.
What we are dealing with is more spiritual than material. Remember the visible world is control by the invisible. There is so much that goes on without your knowledge. We are so limited in how much we see and know. Hence to be able to stand in the evil day,
Be strong in the Lord; by simply building your faith in God. You must listen and memorise what you hear and read. You must grow your faith in God if you are ever going to be able to stand in the evil day.
Be strong in the power of the Lord’s might; you build this strength through the spirit. You build this strength when you learn to pray without ceasing, fast, and endure temptations. The Lord returned with power from the wilderness because he endured the temptation of the devil.
Finally, put on the whole armour of God. This does not happen in a vacuum; we must be intentional about it. We must decide that we will put on salvation, righteousness, faith, the word of God, truth, and a readiness to proclaim the gospel of peace. This is what it takes to withstand even in an evil day.
I have no doubt that you will be ready when the evil day may come. I pray that the Lord will exempt us from the dawning of the evil day, but we can’t take chances. We must be ready to withstand even in the evil day.
God help you!
