[Luke 18:35-43 KJV] “And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging: and hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.”
“And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by. And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.”
“And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.”
“And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God”
I will be speaking to you today on the theme of recieving back what you lost. The story you just read is about a blind man who received his sight. As we walk through life, sometimes we lose valuable things and many of us never really recover.
We want to learn how to receive the things we lost back. I pray that anyone who has lost something shall receive restoration in the name of Jesus Christ! Whatever good thing you lost is coming back to you in the name of Jesus!.
Simple tips to receive what you lost
The simple tips that can help you to receive everything you lost are:
1. Never stop living;
No matter what happens life must go on. Never stop living, your restoration or change may delay in coming but don’t put your life on hold. Though, the blind man was barely surviving; he kept living. He was begging but he kept living. We must teach our children how to live on what they have until they receive what they need.
2. Know what you need and what works;
The blind man knew what he needed. He knew that he needs something more than mere pieces of silver other dropped on him; he knew he needed his sight and knew what works. He knew that he could receive his sight if he had an encounter with power. He knew that physicians could not help much.
When he heard that Jesus was passing by, he runs to him. If you are a woman-in-waiting, you must know the type of man that God wants for you; and you must know what works. At a point, you don’t need another relationship, you need a proposal and subsequently marriage.
3. Pursue what works
When you find what works, pursue it till it delivers. The blind man cried out until he was heard. Cry out, keep planning, praying, pursuing and pushing till you breakthrough. But if you have been on the same path for 4 years with significant results; pause and ask the right questions. The blind man had been begging for years but at a point, he paused and asked the right questions.
4. Ignore the naysayers and pursue your faith;
When the blind man heard that Jesus was passing by, he arose and began to run after Him. Though the people rebuked him, he ignored them and continued to pursue his faith. He knew that all he need was a touch of power. Certain things do work in certain places.
For instance, if you live in Africa and you don’t believe and wait on power; you are not wise. The African is poor, our leaders are insensitive, the people are hypocrites, and the system does not work; our only hope is God. The Bible says the poor are rich in faith; if you are poor and faithless, your trouble is called “double wahala”.
5. Pursue progress;
Don’t abandon what worked for you. Many people cease to progress because they abandon what worked for them. When the blind man received his sight, he continued to follow the Lord with joy and gratitude. May you be able to follow the Lord with joy and gratitude when you receive the touch of power.
May the Lord touch you with power! That same power that healed the blind man! May you receive the touch of the mighty hand of God. May all things begin to fall in place. As we stand to pray, may you pursue earnestly. May the Lord continue to bless you!
Stay blessed
