How do you seek a city whose builder and designer is God? Many of us are seeking many things but only a few are seeking what matters most; only a few are seeking eternal things.
Many of us are seeking temporary things that won’t even last a generation. If you buy a car, that car will be out of function before a generation is past.
Most houses don’t even last beyond a generation. How about clothes, wine, watches, perfume, etc? They won’t even last a lifetime.
One thing that will surely last beyond your lifetime is the city that God has designed and built for us.
The Bible teaches that
[Hebrews 11:8-10 KJV] “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”
Seek a city whose buider and designer is God
Learning from Father Abraham, we understand that you will find the kingdom. When he was called to go out, he went out not even knowing where he was going.
- He was guided by the word
- He was consistent
- He lived as one seeking a country
1. You must be guided by the word
When he was told to come out to a land, he came out not knowing where he was going. He stepped out in faith, we must also step out in faith.
2. You must be consistent
He did not look back once he stepped out. He sought a country that was designed and built by God. He did not seek an occasion to return. He went on and on and on.
3. You must live as someone who is seeking a country
Abraham dwelt in tents. He lived as one that was traveling. He didn’t settle too fast. He knew he was in transit. He sought a country.
I have no doubt in my mind that you will find God’s country. You will find that city whose builder and designer is God.
Stay blessed
