How can you stir up power through worship? And what are the secrets to getting deeper in worship?
I want to speak on the theme of transforming worship to release power. Honestly, the secret to getting deeper in worship is to understand that singing and music itself is just a small part of worship. Worship is mainly the total of your attitude and the state of your heart. The Bible teaches us that the melody should be in our hearts.
[Ephesians 5:18-21 KJV] “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.”
Don’t drink too much wine. That cheapens your life. Drink the Spirit of God, huge draughts of Him. Sing hymns instead of drinking songs! Sing songs from your heart to Christ. Sing praises over everything, any excuse for a song to God the Father in the name of our Master, Jesus Christ.
The secret to making power available through worship is in:
- Be filled with the spirit
- Speaking to yourself in singing hymns and spiritual songs and Psalms
- Making melody in your heart
- Giving thanks to God in the name of Jesus
- Submitting yourselves one to another. Remember the devil fell from grace because of pride. Do not think too highly of yourself.
David became the sweet psalmist whose singing and worship could bring down power to deliver because;
- He had the heart of a servant
- He was cunning in playing
- A mighty valiant man
- A man of war
- Prudent in matters
- He was a comely person
- The Lord was with him
[1 Samuel 16:18 KJV] “Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Beth-lehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him.”
Your private life as a worshipper matters more than your ministry.
Be blessed
