Many of us desire to finish our course and overcome to the end. So I want to share with you the simple secrets to being able to withstand in an evil day.
[Ephesians 6:10-20 KJV] “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. [11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. [12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places .
[13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. [14] Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
[15] And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; [16] Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. [17] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
[18] Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; [19] And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, [20] For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak”.
Indeed, we hope for the best, but smart people prepare for the worst. How then do you prepare for the worst as we transition and step into the coming days;
1. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might:
This is the first step towards preparing for the worst. Don’t wait for the evil day to come. Live your life ready. You must work out your muscles daily.
2. Put on the whole Armour of God:
The second step to be able to stand even in an evil day is to put on the whole Armour of God. Put on the Helmet of Salvation, the Belt of Truth, the Breastplate of Righteousness, the Shield of Faith, the Sword of the Spirit, and the Preparation of the Gospel of Peace.
3. After doing all that stand in faith:
The third secret to be ready for an evil day is to stand in faith. Walk by faith even on a good day. You must constantly train yourself to walk by faith so that you will not slip on the evil day.
4. Pray and watch with all prayers and perseverance for all the Saints:
You will need the Christian community in your evil day; hence the need to pray and watch for the church on your good day. If I don’t empower the church in my good days; she will be incapable to support me on my evil day. In Acts 4, apostle Peter had a company to which he could return because he had empowered the church.
Inasmuch as we all hope for the best, it is only prudent to prepare for the worst.
Be blessed; I love you!
